Welcome to takingbackpacific.weebly.com. The purpose of this page is to allow the residents of Pacific, Washington to come together and regain our sense of community.
It's time to focus on community now. It would be an amazing place to raise our children if we all worked together. Regardless of what happens with our government, it's our community that remains. A wise man once said "One star in a galaxy may offer a dim light, it's not until you pull in all of the other stars that the glow becomes magnificent". We are those stars. We all have something positive to contribute.
What if we had the type of community where everyone was truly accepted, and more
importantly, valued? Imagine what a positive place this would be if no matter our age, ethnicity, religion, income, political views, or social status, each of us were an equal part of our community. It may seem like a tall order now, especially with all that is happening in our little town, but we can achieve it! Adversity can make us or break us. Let's let it make us!
Let's have dinners and dances and activities for our teens and children. Let's create organized community events. Let's get to know each other.
What would you like to see happen? What's important to you? Any ideas you would like to contribute to benefit our community are graciously appreciated. Moving forward, this website is dedicated entirely to community building. After all, without community, what do we have?
There is a fantastic group of folks I want to acknowledge called Pacific Partnerships. They are well known as they have been committed to serving our community for 8+ years now. These dedicated Community Builders offer many contributions to the community we call home. Please take a minute to click on the link and visit their webpage.
The Blog portion of this page will offer a place to share ideas, announce opportunities to volunteer, keep folks updated on events, and helping us get to know our neighbors with "Our Community's Finest".
